FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ATL WINS NAVY SBIR TO DEVELOP A PCMCIA-BASED MACHINERY HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEM

Analog and digital hardware development plus embedded software generation provides a winning combination for the development of a portable system to provide the Navy with the tools to estimate the life expectancy of major Naval systems.

ATL's engineers, programmers and technicians developed the feasibility model of a compact data acquisition system contained on a PCMCIA card for the monitoring of the health of major Naval machinery. The company provided not only the feasibility study requested, but also collected actual data with a prototype system that could provide all the functionality of the solicited design. ATL has recently proposed the full-scale development of the system on a Phase II effort. The company is currently waiting for the results of the proposal effort.
