FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ATL FORMALIZES ITS STRATEGIC PARTNERING PROGRAM

The company has updated its EDA tools to be more compatible with its mainstream customers.

The company started well over a decade ago to provide long-term services for a group of its customers.  This Strategic Partnering Program involved the development of a customer's proprietary product and converting it to what is best described as a commercial product.  Once the program was in place, a customer could purchase any volume of the product on short notice just as it would purchase any commercial product.  ATL provided on-going product updates and anti-obsolescence functions without customer intervention.  Early customers for this program were the Bell operating companies (Bell Atlantic, Bell of PA, Diamond State Bell), and later AT&T and Lucent Technologies.  More recently, ATL has formalized and extended this program to large commercial companies such as United Parcel Service and Mars Electronics International, the federal government through the Department of Energy and the Military through its Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) program.
